Upon hatching, flea larvae remain hidden within crevices and beneath you families home carpeting. Vacuuming is sometimes successful in removing a portion of these eggs and larvae. Contact Treasure Coast Pest Control for further assistance.

Flea-infested pets can be washed with specially formulated soaps and dips. Some of these soaps do contain some harmful pesticides. They should be used only in the care of a veterinarian, incorrect application can be extreamely harmful your family and pet health.

Ticks also seek safety within the homes. Repairing any crevices or gaps and keeping grass cut very short in your yard may discourage infestations. Please dispose of all empty bird and rodent nesting materials, ticks will readily infest these items. Treatment for ticks is not the same as treatment for fleas.

Ticks found on pets or family members require cautious and thorough removal. Ticks should be grasped behind the head by tweezers and pulled very slowly away from the skin. Do not crush the tick, this may lead to the release of dangerous fluids. It is important that the mouth parts be completely removed from the wound at all times. Make sure infected areas are thoroughly washed and disinfected. If you have any medical concerns resulting from a tick or flea bite, seek medical attention right away.
